Local farmers invited to Cover Crops: What Comes Next? workshop in Clinton

Local agricultural producers are invited to Cover Crops: What Comes Next? workshop on Friday, January 25, 2018, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Province of Ontario (Ontario Ministry of Agriculture Food, and Rural Affairs - OMAFRA) office at 100 Don Street in Clinton.

Speakers include Dustin Mullock, of Lindsay; Doug Rogers, of Lambton Shores; Hauke Claussen, of Brucefield; among others.

An optional brief afternoon panel session will focus on grazing cover crops.

"This discussion is designed for local landowners to share their experiences with cover crops over the past several years," according to organizers. "If cover crops are new to you, or if you've used them for many years, please join us to learn more and share your experiences."

Information on grants will be available at the workshop.

There are only 45 spaces available to attend the event so you are asked to pre-register with Abbie Gutteridge, of Ausable Bayfield Conservation, at 519-235-2610 or toll-free 1-888-286-2610, extension 256, by January 21, 2019.

There is no cost to attend the workshop and a hot lunch will be served.

The event is co-hosted by Maitland Conservation, Ausable Bayfield Conservation, and St. Clair Conservation.
